carlisle united
brunton park
A crazy day this was Saturday 18th January 1986, Brunton Park Carlisle hosted a Canon Second Division game between Carlisle United and Blackburn Rovers, the atmosphere was a volatile one. Plenty of goading between Carlisle and Rovers fans making their way in the escort from the train station. The game itself not really memorable on the day, Carlisle running out 2 1 winner. Halpin and Hill getting Carlisles goals, Simon Garner responding for Rovers. The journey home will live with me for a long time for one very notable reason, the train transporting us failed to stop and CRASHED !!..luckily everyone survived, but alot of bruised and injured bodies..
