wembley stadium (old)
national stadium (endland)
Sunday 29th March 1987 I paid my first visit to the grandest stadium of them all, Wembley, to watch Blackburn Rovers take on Charlton Athletic for the Full Members Cup Final, With an early start on the day and travelling down to be with an estimated 30,000+ fellow Roverites, and wanting nothing more than to see MY team win on the hallowed turf,
For large parts of the game both teams played cautiously and not wanting to make an silly mistakes, as the game was approaching its end, Blackburn scored, Colin Hendry on 85 minutes, That remained the score when the referee blew for full time, I can safely say I have seen my team WIN at Wembley, The feeling was awesome on the day, In raptures of celebration with the rest of Blackburn, it seemed.
CHARLTON: Bolder, Humphrey, Reid, Peake, Thompson, Miller, Milne, Lee, Melrose, Walsh, Shipley
BLACKBURN: O'Keefe, Price, Sulley, Barker, Keeley, Mail, Miller, Ainscow, Hendry, Garner, Sellars (sub Patterson)
ATTENDANCE: 40,000+
